Beyond Orders: Moving Forward

Since we kicked off Beyond Orders in 2006, we’ve helped countless US Servicemembers connect with US civilians eager to assist Iraqi and Afghan communities. We’ve responded to 60 requests and facilitated the delivery of more than 240 donations, with each donation ranging from several boxes of winter clothing to thousands of dollars worth of medical supplies. We’ve helped US Servicemembers improve lives, win hearts and minds, and most importantly, in some cases even helped them convince Iraqi and Afghan communities to refuse to assist the insurgency. And ultimately, none of this would have been possible without your support.

As the US Military increases its focus on the humanitarian aspects of counterinsurgency, usage of the Beyond Orders site has diminished considerably. This is a sign of success; Beyond Orders has fulfilled its calling by filling a void of humanitarian supply when it was needed most. Though the Beyond Orders team now steps back and yields to military supply chains, we remain fully committed to supporting any service members in need of humanitarian items. From now on, this site will serve mainly to provide news updates from the Beyond Orders team. And if you are a US Servicemember that wants to request donations for Iraqi/Afghan communities or a US civilian that wants to send donations, please just contact us directly at team@beyondorders.org
